Slotted Pipe Drains
General Information

 

The DuraTrench slot drain system is a spin on the classic metal slot drain system.  We took this classic concept and improved upon it.  First, we improved the interior of the slot drain and made it ultra-smooth to improve flow rates and reduce debris build up.  With proper slope, scouring velocities are easily achieved.  The next improvement that was made is to anchor the top load bearing flange into the concrete with concrete anchor studs.  This is very important for the long term durability of a slot drain in heavy traffic applications as it ensures the load is transferred properly to the surrounding concrete encapsulation.  The Dura Trench slot drain also includes installation devices to aide in the installation of the product.  These installation devices offer a way to level the slot drain and assist in anchoring and aligning the slot drain.  This assures that proper concrete consolidation under the slot drain can be achieved.  The DuraTrench slot drain is currently being offered in 4", 6", 8", 10", 12", 15", 18", 24", and 36" pipe widths.  All of these sizes come standard with variable height risers to give the designer the desired slope and flow rate.
4" pipe


4" SLOT DRAIN

The 4" slot drain is a popular choice for interior and landscape applications.  With the typical 1% slope it handles 0.22 cfs (98 gpm).  This type system is most often seen around pools, inside food and beverage facilities, in manufacturing plants, in patios and pavilions, around running tracks, and other similar applications.  It is favored for the sleek look and reasonable cost.

6" pipe

 6" SLOT DRAIN


The 6" slot drain is used in the same applications as the 4" slot drain, but when the 4" slot drain is just too small to handle the required flow rates.  It is a  popular choice for interior and landscape applications.  With the typical 1% slope it handles 0.65 cfs (290 gpm).  This type system is most often seen around pools, inside food and beverage facilities, in manufacturing plants, in patios and pavilions, around running tracks, and other similar applications.  It is favored for the sleek look and reasonable cost.

8" pipe


8" SLOT DRAIN


The 8" slot drain is large enough to start being used in civil and site work applications, while still small enough to be used for some interior applications.  It is offered with both a wide opening for exterior, high flow applications and a narrow slot for interior and pedestrian applications.  With the typical 1% slope it handles 1.39 cfs (625 gpm).

12" pipe


12" SLOT DRAIN


The 12" slot drain is a true civil work horse.  The 1 1/2" wide slot can capture most any sheet flow.  It is a great choice for driveway entrances, roadways, parking lots, and patio areas.  The sleek look and reasonable cost make it a true winner.  With the typical 1% slope it handles 4.1 cfs (1842 gpm).

15" SLOT DRAIN


The 15" slot drain is a high capture and high flow product typically used in roadway and heavy civil applications.  The 1 1/2" wide slot can capture most any sheet flow.  It is a great choice for highways, airports, driveway entrances, and parking lots.  The sleek look and reasonable cost per cfs make it a true winner.  With the typical 1% slope it handles 7.4 cfs (3340 gpm).

 18" SLOT DRAIN


The 18" slot drain is a high capture and high flow product typically used in roadway and heavy civil applications.  It is too big for most smaller sites and is seen most often on large parking areas for aircraft, intermodal yards, manufacturing plants, and highways.  The 1 1/2" wide slot can capture most any sheet flow.  The reasonable cost per cfs make it a true winner.  With the typical 1% slope it handles 12.1 cfs (5430 gpm).

24" pipe


24" SLOT DRAIN


The 24" slot drain is a high capture and high flow product.  It is typically used down stream of a smaller slot pipe in a long run where smaller slot pipes are reaching capacity.  Another application is where a culvert or other storm pipe must run through the slot pipe and already has significant flow.  The 24" slot pipe is too big for most smaller sites and is seen most often on large parking areas for aircraft, intermodal yards, manufacturing plants, and highways.  The 1 1/2" wide slot can capture most any sheet flow.  The reasonable cost per cfs make it a true winner.  With the typical 1% slope it handles 26.0 cfs (11,697 gpm).
